Useful open-source projects

Review the script before you run it.

These external projects can help with human-written or AI-assisted PowerShell. Reading their documentation does not install anything. Review the exact release and your organization’s requirements before using them.

External project · Microsoft / PowerShell project

PSScriptAnalyzer

Check a local PowerShell draft for common code-quality findings. Start with a script you wrote or a synthetic example, then review the reported rule.

Findings are not proof of correctness or safety. Custom rules execute code; automatic fixes are not part of this suggested review.

Pester

Write repeatable checks for expected output using invented inputs, including normal, empty and invalid examples.

Tests execute PowerShell. Review setup, teardown, imports and everything they call. Mocks are not a sandbox; passing tests cover only the cases tested.

Local tools, clear limits.

The planning brief, checklist and converter run in your browser. Their inputs are not sent to Winhoven or saved by these pages. Copy and download happen only when you choose. The checklist can also open an email draft after you review it; this hands the previewed text to your email app, whose provider may store or sync the draft. It does not send automatically or create a support ticket. Downloads remain under your control. The prompt page copies text; it does not run an AI model.
